Our Story...
Back in the 2002, Darrell Elser, his wife Maria, their two daughters, Amanda and Krystal, and Krystal's fiancé, John, began farming their small 2-acre parcel in Yucaipa, California. We started out selling heirloom tomatoes, cucumbers and raised chickens for eggs. We brought our produce to Redlands farmers market and proudly sold our produce.

Over the years, we developed a strong personal relationship with our farm. As we work with the soil... plunge our hands in to it and breathe its smells... that relationship becomes very intimate. We began selling more produce expanding to different varieties with our main focus on heirloom tomatoes.

Though Elser's Country Farm is not certified organic, we take pains to meet the organic certification requirements. This includes not using any synthetic pesticides, appropriately managing compost, and eschewing genetically modified organisms. As ecoganic growers, we use mushroom and tree compost, cover crops and lots of hand labor (with the help of a rototiller).

These days, we farm a large variety of heirloom produce; including tomatoes, hothouse tomatoes, sweet peppers, hot peppers, Japanese seedless cucumbers, sweet Maui onions, Italian squash, watermelon, pumpkins, lettuce, carrots, broccali, radishes, beets, peas, herbs and lots more!

Elser's Country Farm maintains a very high standard in picking, packing and washing. We pick our produce at the height of ripeness and sell at certified farmers markets the next day. We grow a wide variety of heirloom produce, exposing our customers to new and different tastes for new ways of cooking.

So, if you're looking to impress friends with amazingly sweet and juicy heirloom produce, or you just want to make your own little family happy, you can depend on us to put smiles on their faces and juice on their chins. We hope you enjoy the produce from our home to yours!
